We are looking for someone who wants to gain experience teaching 2.5- to 5-year-olds under the guidance and mentoring of our Preschool Director and a Lead Teacher.
As an Assistant classroom teacher, you will work in collaboration with and under the guidance of your room’s Lead Teacher to manage the classroom, prepare curriculum, oversee student learning, assist in student assessment, implement developmentally appropriate classroom routines, and encourage collaboration among the staff. Teachers are expected to uphold the mission, policies and procedures at Har Shalom Preschool as well as State of Colorado’s licensing requirements, and the NAEYC code of conduct.
We use a Montessori-inspired and play-based approach to guide student learning. Our goal as an organization is to live our values, so our curriculum provides a foundation of social-emotional and academic skills within a nurturing, non-competitive environment.
Our school follows the local school district calendar, we operate from August through May. The ideal candidate will be able to start immediately, work through the month of May, and return for the 2023-24 school year in August.
The hours are 8:00am-4:30 pm. Monday – Friday.
Pay is hourly at $17/hour the first year, with the opportunity to become salaried in subsequent years.
The idea candidate will have taken early childhood education courses or be willing to enroll in courses.
