The CSU Early Childhood Center (ECC) is seeking early childhood educators to join our Assistant Teacher team working with children ages 6 weeks to 6 years. CSU Early Childhood Center Assistant Teachers are hourly employees.

The role of the Assistant Teacher is to support Classroom Teachers in the implementation of developmentally appropriate classroom routines in adherence with ECC philosophy. Assistant Teachers are expected to adhere to the mission, policies, and procedures at the ECC as well as State of Colorado licensing requirements and NAEYC accreditation standards while implementing a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach.

Candidates should be seeking a degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Development and Family Studies, Psychology or Sociology. Applicant should meet state requirements for Early Childhood Teacher (ECT). Qualified candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Human Development and Family Studies, or a related field; have teaching experience in early childhood settings; have the ability to effectively interact with diverse clientele including children, parents, and college students; and have excellent verbal communication skills. This position requires regular bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, and kneeling. Ability to lift and carry participants and equipment up to 40 lbs. on a repeated basis.
