With the Alexander Mountain Fire continuing to impact our friends, neighbors, and colleagues, Early Childhood Council of Larimer County remains committed to ensuring our community has access to information and support. Here are a few helpful links and resources: 

Stay Updated: 

  • Sign up for emergency alerts at NOCOALERT.org. 
  • Text the word LCEVAC to 888777 to receive text message alerts about evacuation notices, animal evacuations, road closures, and other important updates.
  • Stay tuned on your local radio station for updates on the situation.
  • Follow live updates from the Coloradoan
  • Follow your local responding agencies on social media. These include but are not limited to @LarimerSheriff, @LETA_911, @poudrefire, @usfsarp, & others.

  • Foundation Church, 1380 North Denver Ave, Loveland, CO 80537
  • Event Center in Estes Park, 1125 Rooftop Way, Estes Park, CO 80517
  • Boulder County Fairgrounds, Exhibit Building, 9595 Nelson Rd, Longmont, CO

Animal evacuations:

  • Large Animals – Island Grove Regional Park, 501 N 14th Ave, Greeley, CO 80631
  • Small Animals – Contact The Humane Society at 970-226-3647 (option 0)

How to talk to kids:

Free activities for kids displaced by the fires: 

  • Lil Monsters Playground in Windsor: Friends in and around Loveland: if your family is being evacuated because of the fire, please feel free to come into our playground in Windsor, and we will take care of you while you make further plans. There will be no charge at all for your admission if you are being evacuated from your home We’re open 9am to 7pm, we’re here for you, and we’re so sorry for what you’re going through. Offer is good through 8/02. 

Contribute: 

  • As of this afternoon, the county website reports that “due to the large outpouring of support, no additional volunteer resources or supplies are needed at this time.” 
  • Serve 6.8 is taking donations Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 5701 McWhinney Boulevard, Loveland, CO 80538. 
  • Donate to United Way of Larimer County and EVICS Family Resource Center and look for updates about ways to support families affected by the fire. 

Inform: 

  • Share this information with your friends and family. 
  • Encourage families who have been displaced to use LarimerChildCare.org to locate child care resources near where they are staying.
